Stipendiedonation - Donation to our Scholarship Fund

Each year SWEA Toronto award scholarships to Canadian students who will be going to study at a Swedish university. Ontario students who have already been accepted at a Swedish University are eligible to apply. (The scholarship is not available to SWEA members and/or their family members.) This year (2022) SWEA Toronto awarded $20.000 in scholarships to 10 students. We had 54 applicants. 

2022 marked the 36th anniversary of SWEA Toronto’s Scholarship program. It was in the falll of 1986 that our first scholarship were awarded at York university. 

Since that first event SWEA Toronto has awarded about 155 scholarships for a value of roughly $270,000. 

As an organization we are very proud of our scholarship program and it gives us great pleasure to award them to Ontario students who want to study in Sweden. One of SWEAs mandates is ‘to spread Swedish history, culture and tradition’ so what better way is there than to support people to actually go to Sweden and learn about our culture and traditions right there?
